  2. Currently the way preview on device works is to pair the snapchat account and send the lens to the device. Which works good but not efficient when I want to send the realtime updates to other folks/clients to test on their devices. Also sometimes I want to compare two versions of my lens one before changing and one after changing something. With shareable links all this can be streamlined with each link being unique to that version of the lens plus easily shareable with other folks.

In 4.55.1 and a some versions before that, we were able to delete all assets that weren't referenced in the scene, this feature was marvelous to help preserve order in the project files and for optimization purposes. If possible please bring that feature back. As it is honestly an amazing feature.

  7. As I work on lenses with more transitions and interactions, I’ve become increasingly confused about concepts related to layers. From what I understand, there are render targets, camera layers, camera render order, objects (displayed at the top of the Inspector), and the 3D space in the scene.

    I’m having trouble understanding how these elements work together. I hope there can be a clearer, more beginner-friendly explanation for this part.

  8. Currently it's very difficult to enter multiline inputs in the dynamic text ( Editable Text/ Shareable Text ) as the enter key's native behavior is to confirm the text and not a new line. If we can have something which allows us to input new lines as well that would be awesome. For now I have created a custom keyboard to do the same

  11. A handful of the assets in the asset library currently seem to not work properly in LS 5 specifically LS 5.4.1 I am testing them in. It would be nice if the report button in the asset library allowed us to report these there rather than that button only being for copyright infringement complaints.

    • Particles Controller - using outdated gpu particle shader, fails to render on device without updating shader to new version manually

  13. I'm a programmer and sometimes teach new-media tools such as Lens Studio and Meta Spark in Taiwan. Most of my students do not have coding skills, so Script Graph is a really nice feature to let them get hands-on making interactive experiences, and is also very easy to teach. (And they like the Patch Editor in Meta Spark a lot)

    Although Lens Studio 5 hasn't officially supported Script Graph yet, as someone who is interested and cares about visual scripting, I have tried it out and would like to provide some feedback.

  15. When developing AR lenses, it's crucial to ensure that all assets are symmetrically placed and aligned across various mobile phone screen ratios. To achieve this, I currently upload a preset preview image of a grid to manually check if the entire scene is perfectly symmetrical.

    A built in grid overlay in the preview section would be a game changer. This feature could allow developers to toggle a grid directly within the workspace, ensuring precise symmetry across all screen ratios.

    This would save time, reduce errors, and help developers deliver perfectly aligned lenses without relying on manual uploads.

  16. As LAT is now a hard metric for Lens approval, especially for advertising and commercial lenses, we need more robust tools for debugging LAT performance in lenses.

    Common issues being seen are large differences between LAT reporting in debugging on device vs reported debugging when a Lens is submitted (often 2x or more).
    Even when following the guidelines for remote assets and async prefab loading, these can seem to have little to no effect.

    It would be great to have a comprehensive list of which specific technologies within Lens studio incur LAT spikes and specific mitigation steps to get these…

  17. Hello! The frame rate on any web hosted lens on mobile is pretty low and would not be suitable for any potential project to go ahead as it's essential the experience is not extremely laggy. Could a fix be implemented so it works this week? Im on a iPhone 12 Pro with safari as the browser and the versions in snap and on a Mac in safari all work with a great frame rate.

    A world tracking or simple/light effect like eye colour works better but the rate is still noticeable.

    Deployed web cam kit of the same lens works…

  19. In LS 4 you could undo after importing something to the Resources/Asset Browser panel.

    In LS 5 it only undo stuff in the Objects/Scene Hierarchy panel.

    So if you import something, regret it and try to undo, it's going to undo the last action on the objects panel instead of the actual last action that was the import.

  20. The script graph in Lens Studio 5.0.5 is missing a massive amount of nodes that makes it possible for non-programmers to build lenses. Even simple nodes like add and subtract are missing.
