Standardized Input Layouts (Game Controller/D-Pad) in Spectacles Companion App
I am requesting that the Spectacles companion app be updated to include a library of standardized, system-level input layouts—specifically a "Game Controller" mode (D-Pad and buttons) and other common templates.
Rationale:
Currently, developers are forced to choose between building entire native companion apps (which is high-friction for users and developers) or relying on limited, non-standard touch inputs. By providing these as built-in UI templates in the official Spectacles companion app, Snap would allow creators to build high-quality gaming and utility experiences without requiring users to download third-party companion apps.
Benefit:
This would provide a consistent, high-quality user experience across all Lenses and significantly lower the barrier to entry for developers building interactive AR content, similar to the experience showcased in "Tiny Motors."
